Jet in hot coflow. Self-igniting flame consisting on a fuel jet issuing into a vitiated hot coflow. Simulation performed using an unsteady Flamelet/Progress-Variable model and a mesh of 12MCV. In the video are shown the mixture fraction (mixing tracker) and progress-variable (reaction tracker) fields. In this case, the flame self-ignites due to the hot gases surrounding the fuel jet.
